Dinner with Donors

Last night the golf team was treated to a wonderful dinner at the home of Lady Vol supporters Ann and Sam Furrow. We heard all about how the women's golf team was added as a sport at Tennessee in the early 90's and the obstacles that were overcome. Our women's Athletic Director, Joan Cronan attended along with USGA rules officials and golf team donors Tina and Ray Sanders. The golfers had the opportunity to chat with these important people and hear about their golf backgrounds. The Lady Vols then each told the story of how they chose to come to Tennessee and what their goals are for our program. It was a fun night and a great example of the family atmosphere at Tennessee.

Practice Practice....

We have been really lucky with the weather since classes started last Wednesday and are already getting some good work done! It's been in the 50's everyday in Knoxville, so we've been out to play and to our practice facility several times. Even though we had a long off season, the players look great! We have 4 more weeks until we leave for our first event of the spring, so there is plenty of time make sure they are at the top of their games.

They're Baaaack!

Finally, after the longest winter break ever, the team is rolling back into Knoxville! We've had a couple of cold weeks, but just as they come back, it's supposed to warm up! I'm looking forward to seeing everybody play golf again. Some are from very cold places, so we will need some time before we're sharp again, but with just over five weeks until our first event of the spring, I think it's plenty of time. Welcome back Lady Vols!

Happy New Year!

I love the beginning of every year - for some reason it gets me motivated to clean house to have a fresh start to the new year. I seem to spend a lot of spare time heading to Goodwill, but what a great feeling to have my closets cleaned out and organized - at least for a few weeks! Today I'll be back at it trying to get as much done as I can before work gets busy. School starts at UT the 13th, and soon after we will be back at practice and on the road for a busy spring!
